Thank you so much for your interest in joining Bloggers Helping Bloggers as a mentee! We’re excited to have you and hope we can help you achieve some of your blogging goals.
But you’re probably wondering what you need to do. We’ve put together a list of some commonly asked questions with their answers that should help get you started. If you still have questions, you can always contact us.
How do I know if I qualify to participate?
To join, you must have an existing blog with some published, quality content. As long as you have that, we can find a way to work with you. If you are interested in starting a blog from ground zero (i.e., learning how to create a free WordPress blog), this is not the program for you although we do have paid services available to get you started.
If you are a podcaster interested in joining, you do not have to have an established podcast to do so. We have mentors on hand to help you build one from the ground up.
How do I sign up?
You sign up by sending us an email letting us know you’re interested. Make sure to include your name, blog URL, and a brief summary (1-3 sentences) detailing why you’d like to be mentee. You must include this information or we will not respond to your inquiry.
How do I know if I’ve been accepted?
We’ll tell you in a response email that you’ll receive within 2 business days of receipt of your initial inquiry. You will be asked for more information at a later date.
Is there a limit on how many people can enter the program at one time?
The number of mentees admitted into the program is based on the amount of mentors available. This number changes each session, but we typically have a minimum of 10 spots open for each session.
What do I need to blog about?
While we specialize in assisting personal finance bloggers, the program program is open to bloggers of all niches.
What do I need to do once I’m accepted?
While there are no formal tasks or reports, we do provide a manual that will guide you in terms of topics to discuss and questions to ask. We do hope you’ll want to make the most of the experience by talking with your mentor regularly, asking questions, responding to your mentor’s feedback, and putting in the effort to achieve some of your short term goals. Like most things, the more you put into the program, the more you’ll get out of it.
Can I be kicked out?
Although the program is voluntary, yes, you can be asked to leave. Our mentors, like you, are very busy people and have generously agreed to donate their time. If you do not talk to your mentor, show an effort, or fail to update your site, that tells us that you aren’t interested in improving and we will ask you to relinquish your spot.
Is there anything else you can tell me?
Sure! Bloggers Helping Bloggers is a unique experience in that you are paired with a veteran blogger or podcaster for one on one mentoring. It’s different than a blogging forum in that you get that individual attention and can feel less intimidated about asking questions. You will have direct guidance from an experienced, successful blogger or podcaster who will work with you on targeted, specific goals. Also, it’s fun!
If you want to hear what other mentees had to say about their involvement, be sure to check out the testimonials.
